License for @react-native-documents/picker and @react-native-documents/viewer for sponsors

1. Grant of License

Vojtech Novak ("Author") hereby grants to each individual or entity that provides financial support to the Author through the GitHub Sponsors program ("Sponsor"), a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use @react-native-documents/picker and @react-native-documents/viewer (the Libraries) in accordance with the terms of this License.

2. Definitions

  • "Sponsor" refers to any individual or entity that provides continuous financial support to the Author through the GitHub Sponsors program. A Sponsor retains this status from the time the first sponsorship payment is successfully processed until the termination of the sponsorship.
  • "Libraries" refers to the code and related materials made available to the Sponsor under this License.
  • "Product" refers to any software or application developed by the Sponsor that incorporates any part of Libraries.
  • "Employee" refers to any individual employed by the Sponsor on a full-time or part-time basis.
  • "Contractor" refers to any individual or entity contracted by the Sponsor to perform specific tasks or services.

3. Scope of License

This License permits the Sponsor to use Libraries in an unlimited number of private or public projects, including those of a commercial nature. This right extends to Employees and Contractors of the Sponsor for work directly related to the Sponsor's projects.

4. Restrictions

The Sponsor, even after termination of the sponsorship, shall not:

  • Re-sell or distribute Libraries, in whole or in part, to any third party.
  • Create a service that allows third parties to use Libraries to build their own products.
  • Develop or distribute a code template, starter kit, library or similar developer resource that includes Libraries.

5. Termination and Continuing Rights for Past Sponsors

  • The License is valid as long as the Sponsor maintains their sponsorship status with the Author. Upon termination of the sponsorship, the Sponsor loses the right to receive updates, new versions, or additional materials related to Libraries. However, sponsor retains the right to continue using the version of Libraries available to them at the time their sponsorship ended. The restrictions in chapter 4. still apply after termination of the sponsorship.
  • This continuing right is non-transferable and is limited to the Sponsor’s internal business use, including use by the Sponsor’s Employees and Contractors for projects initiated during the sponsorship period.
  • The Author reserves the right to revoke this continuing right from any past Sponsor in the event of misuse of Libraries as detailed in the Restrictions section of this License or breach of any other terms of this License.

6. No Warranty

Libraries are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Author be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of Libraries, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise.

8. Governing Law

This License shall be governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.
